Larry "Doc" VolzDr. Larry
Volz has been
performing as a magician, actor and hypnotist on television, cruise
ships, colleges, corporate events and theaters around the globe for
over 20 years. "Doc" Volz
actually does have a doctoral degree -- in clinical
hypnosis! He is a well respected therapist and expert in the
field of complimentary health. So he knows more about what snake
oil is and is not than most people you'll ever meet. His
decades of experience have made him into the kind of performer that is
so in the moment that he is as
spontaneous and naturally funny as the wildly surprising and hysterical
shows his
on-stage partners and volunteers help him orchestrate.
He is
the ringmaster of fun whether he is performing his Steampunk
Magic
Trunk
Show or his hysterical Comedy
Hypnosis program. Doc Volz wrote, starred and
produced the 19th century gala evening variety shows "The Virginia
Vaudeville Company" and "The History and Mystery of Magic" at
Rockefeller's own Williamsburg Theater (Now the Kimball Theater) in
Colonial Williamsburg. He was a writer and
comedian
in The Modern Burlesque Brigade co-producing several comedy burlesque Larry
began as a magician
when he received a magic kit for Christmas at 9 years old and followed
his
passion throughout the years finally culminating in becoming a world
champion
magician – winning the coveted “People’s Choice Award” from the
International
Brotherhood of Magicians in 2000 as well as well as winning the stage
magic championships at the 2000 Society of American Magicians
ineternational convention - the organisation founded by Harry Houdini
himself. He has performed
on television with Penn and Teller, with Lance Burton and with Robin
Leach, starred in the independent film "the Flock" and appeared as a
hypnotist twice on the top-rated television show in Japan. |

RioRio is a multi-talented dancer and performing artist who has appeared in a wide variety of venues and professional shows showcasing her classical dance, tap and most of all her fusion belly dance skills. A highly sought after performer with bands around the nation she is also a regular with Dr. Volz's Steampunk Magic Trunk and her pet project Maharal - a Richmond based hybrid of Middle-Eastern music and Led Zepplinesque rock and roll. Versatile and talented she is also a kindly obliging victim for Doc's illusion "A Bound Woman Cut in Two." |

Slash ColemanSlash is an award-winning storyteller, comedian and musician best known for his off-broadway and PBS television one-man show "The Neon Man and Me." KhalimaKhalima is a fusion belly dance performer, instructor, and artist. While Khalima’s base style is Egyptian and Cabaret, she pulls from and fuses many genres. Khalima's Art Fusion Bellydance is a modern evolution rooted in ancient practices, fueled by the desire to learn and create, and incorporate the freeing and healing aspects of movement and art, all tied together with a sense of ritual and connection.She is a member of the Rogue Bellydance Collective and Sekhemti, an ancient-modern dance duo consisting of her and yogi and artist LeVar. Khalima is a past-member of Najia Samiya ‘s professional dance troupes— award winning 1001 Dreams (Classic Cabaret/Egyptian) and Mysterium (Tribal Fusion)— both based in Philadelphia. She is the founder and owner of Illumination, and president of Khalima Dance LLC. |

Becca BernardBecca graduated Virginia Commonwealth University with a Masters in Theater. She also studied Commedia Del Arte in Italy and is an expert in stage combat and physical comedy. Her original variety arts sketches including "Yo Yo Mama" are very fresh and funny and a great addition to Doc Volz's Steampunk Magic Trunk when she takes a break from her busy schedule as a highly sought-after New York actress and joins us. |
