And for those with bigger
events Doc can bring along special guests...
As
the
show
continues,
Doc Volz shares inventions that he has come up with
during his travels through time and space including such things as:
The new element
"Fluxonium" which he demonstrates two of it's unique qualities,
including time reversal
His teleportation
device - it only works line of sight with small objects and isn't
entirely dependable... but he assures us there won't be another
brundle-fly incident.
The invisibility chamber
And with that, Volz adds a
heaping dollop of his own comedy and plenty of the kind of magic that
won him the highest award in the world for magical stage
performers.
It's all got a Victorian-era and science fiction feel -- but it is all so impossible 21st century
minds
will get a work out holding their stomachs from laughing and catching
their jaws from droppin'.
For larger shows he will include illusions such as the classic sawing a
woman in half as done by P.T. Selbit. By the way, you haven't
seen it. You think you have... but you haven't. Doc
actually has everything inspected includint the blades and has audience
members HOLD HER DOWN as he cuts her in half. It's mind-boggling
fun.
And he can even bring along
co-starring musicians, dancers and variety artists including:
A live keyboardist that
becomes his "paul schaffer" - adding a further element to his comedy
Or variety artists like
Yo Yo Mama (New York actress Becca Bernard) who reproduces a Lucille
Ball vaudeville routine with a cello in sharp counterpoint to an
elegent sleight of hand piece from the turn of the last century.
When her bow shoots like an arrow from the cello and hit's Doc upside
the head... well... it's typical of never knowing what is going to
happen next.:
Or renouned belly
dancers like Rio or Khalima that add beauty, elegance and texture to a
great show.

TIME
"Doc Volz's Steampunk Magic Trunk" stars Larry Volz, a world champion
magician and hypnotist who portrays a time-travelling inventor,
magician and medicine man.
Part of the show includes an old-time medicine show pitch as he shows
one side of his character - a slick,
fast-talking snake oil pitchman whose sometimes brilliant, sometimes
very confused command of the English language will leave you amused,
confused and bemused as his world-class magic and comedy levitates your
spirits.
This part of the show
was developed with the help of 20 year veteran snake oil pitchman "Doc"
Len Wayne. Working together he helped Volz develop
his pitchman personality and perpendicular, pluperfect, wonderously
edifying pontifications.
"I'm
sharing
my
wisdom
and
it's in brand new condition. 'Cause it
aint' never been used!"
- Doc Volz
Guests are never quite sure what is going to happen next as Volz may
lop his arm off, teleport things to the audience from the stage, make
it snow in the theater or pick
someone's pockets while they are helping them with an invention.
The show can be
performed for any size audience, indoors, outdoors, with or without
fire, on a proscenium stage or in the round. They can skip the
sexy lil' fan dance and it becomes absolutely suitable for all
ages.
